Cystic Acne
Cystic Acne - An Introduction
The swollen pustules which are formed on the skin surface are a result of an infection called Acne. The harshest and the most painful form of acne is called Cystic Acne.
This form of the infection is very painful, and the infection cannot be cured overnight. Cysts are formed and swollen pus filled red pustules are visible on the external surface of the skin.
The main cause of development of the infection cannot be defined specifically, and it actually varies from individual to individual. Hormonal changes or imbalances, collection of dirt on the skin are some of the prime causes. Skin Care Experts and Medical Practitioners claim that many times Acne (also Cystic Acne) is hereditary. A person can experience an acne breakout at any age; however, it has been observed that the majority of acne infected individuals are teenagers. Acne after the age of 30 or more is referred to as Adult Acne. This can be seen in Women after their pregnancy. Post Pregnancy Acne is quite common because of the constant huge hormonal changes taking place in the body.
It should be kept in mind that breakout of acne is a temporary phase, and therefore should not be disturbed. Often people tend to squeeze the pus filled pustules to get rid of the pus that makes the skin look ugly, and end up developing a permanent scar on the skin. Bleeding can also start if the pimples are scratched or pricked too often.
The scar removal creams and lotions that are easily available over the counter in the medical and pharmacy stores shall have no effect on the damaged skin. Sometimes pits are also formed on the skin because of squeezing the pustules. These pits are permanent, and are impossible to get rid of unless the individual decides to go for a cosmetic surgery.
